One Death Too Many - #JusticeForOchanya

Published Nov 8, 2018

At the age of eight, every child’s dream would probably be to become a medical doctor or an engineer. Ochanya was at that age when her life took a different twist; a twist she will never understand even until her death recently at the age of thirteen.

The late 13 year old Miss Elizabeth Ochanya Ogbanje was a student of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Gboko, Benue State. Her dreams were gradually coming through until her body couldn’t withstand the inhuman torture.

She was sexually abused excessively for over five years by her aunt’s husband and son (her cousin). The 51 year-old man, Mr Andrew Ogbuja was a lecturer in the Department of Catering and Hotel Management, Benue State Polytechnic, and his son, Victor, a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Markurdi.

We want justice for Ochanya. The case is in court but the boy, Victor is still at large. We know that this case can easily go away like every other rape case but will you allow this? This death is one too many. Share this tweet and let us collectively ensure that everyone connected to this inhuman murder is apprehended and the right justice is served.
