Gender balance on corporate boards is a global issue and corporations across the world continue to advance gender parity in their boardroom composition. According to the International standard benchmark practice and good corporate governance code, there should be a 50:50 gender balance in boardroom composition. However, there appears to be yet, a lacuna in boardroom gender composition in Africa, particularly, Nigeria.
